The topic that we’re going to talk about is how to import items from QuickBooks Accounting to your QuickBooks Point of Sale. So let’s start with a step by step procedure:

1. First thing is to make sure that QuickBooks Point of Sale and QuickBooks Accounting is synced. If you don’t know how to do that watch this video.
2. So on the QuickBooks Point of Sale, go to “Financial” menu and then click on “Financial Center”.

1. On the Financial Center window, click on “Show Advance Options”.

1. On the Actions area click on “Import Items Now”.

1. In this window, select the item fields from QuickBooks Accounting to be transferred to QuickBooks Point of Sale’s item description fields. That means the item name from QuickBooks Accounting will automatically have the same item name on QuickBooks Point of Sale. Then click “Next”.

1. It will ask you if you want to import specific inventory items, you can choose from either yes or no. Take note that once you have imported an item to Point of Sale, it cannot be used in QuickBooks Accounting any more. For this example we are going to choose “No”. Then click “Import Now”.

1. Select the items that you want to be imported. You can also set a filter to lessen the items that are being displayed on the list by clicking on “Filtered View”. Then click “Ok”.

1. Once imported, go back to QuickBooks Point of Sale Item List and check for the items that have been imported.

1. After that, check on the details of the item imported by selecting the item and then click on the “Edit” button on the upper right side of the window. Verify if all the fields from QuickBooks Accounting have been transferred properly to QuickBooks Point of Sale. Especially for the Vendor Fields, Type Fields and Department Fields.

1. Lastly also check on the QuickBooks Options to check which account this is attached to. Custom Fields can also be transferred as long as it has the exact same Custom Field Name. Then click “Save”.
