Unless you’re importing the picture while creating the item, you can create a folder and fill up pictures and then name them according to 5 different formats. This will greatly save you time and make your inventory list organized and complete! Let’s get started:
- First, we have to go to “File” menu → then “Utilities” → click on “Import”.
- The Data Import Wizard dialogue box will appear, click “Next” after reading the message.
- Now select “Item Pictures” since we are going to import pictures for this guide. Then click “Next”.
- On this window, here is where you can choose from 5 different formats that QuickBooks Point of Sale can pick up and automatically import pictures to their corresponding items. Map the folder where the pictures are located, then select what format you want QuickBooks Point of Sale to recognize when importing. Click on “Next” after choosing.
- Item Name_Attribute_Size — this is for a more specific item since it consists of the Item Name field, Attribute field and Size field. (e.g. Slim Suchandsuch Jacket_Red_38)
- Item Name — The item name of the item in QuickBooks Point of Sale.
- Universal Product Code (UPC) — this one has to be the easiest as it will only recognized pictures named after the item’s UPC.
- Alternate Lookup (ALU) — is kind of like a manufacturer part number. QuickBooks Point of Sale will only import a picture that has the same format on the item list.
- Item number — The item number of the item in QuickBooks Point of Sale.
- Select “I am only importing default item pictures” and then click “Next”.
- In this window, select an action to be done by QuickBooks Point of Sale whenever an item is found with a picture already assigned.
- After detecting for any matched items from the imported pictures, click on “Import”.
- When the Image is imported, click on “Finish”.
- You can now check your item in item list to verify if the picture has been imported properly.
