QuickBooks POS: Customize shelf tag

Today we are going to talk about customizing the shelf tag or the intuit regular tag. Let’s begin:

  1. Go to “File” menu click “Tools, then select “Print Designer”.
  1. Print Designer screen will appear.
  1. On your “Select a Document type” choose Inventory Tags.
  2. On the “Available Templates” choose Intuit Label.
  3. You might just want to copy the template so that if you mess up the template you can go back to the original template. So, select “Options” then click “Copy Selected”.
  4. This is now your copy of Intuit Label.
  1. You can begin customizing your tag.
  2. You can Add, Delete, and Edit the labels on your tag.
  3. If you want to Add Data Field or Text Label, go to “Add” select “Data Field or Group of Fields” if you want to add some fields or you can select “Text Label” if you want to add some texts for your template.
  1. If you want to Edit the text on your field, Double-click the text then “Properties” screen will appear. You can Edit the Text and Boarder here. Then select “Ok”.
  1. Setup your barcode, make sure your Barcode type is “Code2OF5IL” then select “Ok”.
  1. This is now the finished template that we customize. (Just an example)
  1. Select “Close”, Print Designer screen will appear. Check the box then select “Yes”.
  1. Enter a name for your template then select “Ok”.
  1. On your Print Designer screen click “Close”.

Let’s try to use the template.

  1. Go to “Item List”, select items you want to print.
  2. On the blue buttons select “Print Tags”.
  3. Print screen will appear.
  1. On your “Item Template” choose the template you made.
